She's a keen cyclist and her first writings were cycle route guides and travel articles, as well as a book about prison.
She has had some poetry published but - now a full-time writer - she is currently focusing on fiction and creative non-fiction. In 2002 she self-published her first novel, The Estuary, and in 2004 she did the same with The Reed Flute. Both books are set in East Anglia.
Tessa has direct, relevant experience of self-publishing and its essential corollary: getting the book into the hands of readers. She is keen to help writers understand the processes, pleasures and costs of self-publishing.
Tessa lives in Suffolk.
