Michael Nicholas

Michael Nicholas studied music in London and Oxford, held posts at Louth, Lincolnshire,
and Northampton, before moving to Norwich in 1971 as Organist and Master of
the Choristers of Norwich Cathedral, a part-time Lecturer in Music at the
University of East Anglia and Conductor of Norwich Philharmonic Chorus.
Moved to London in 1994 as Chief Executive of the Royal College of
Organists. During that time also became Conductor of the Allegri Singers and
Organist and Choirmaster of All Saints' Church, Blackheath. In 1999, became
Organist and Director of Music at St Mary-le-Tower, Ipswich. Ten years on,
still responsible for three fully choral services every Sunday and over
thirty concerts a year. In 2001, founded the Tower Chamber Choir which
attracts many of the most experienced choral singers from across the county
of Suffolk. Also continues to work as free-lance organist, conductor,
composer and music examiner.
