Learn how to compose the music for a new Christmas Carol.  This one-day workshop is designed for mixed abilities - from absolute beginners to fluent instrumentalists.  You do not need to be able to read music to compose a really good tune.  (Click on Quintus's name to see more about the tutor.)In the morning we will be finding out how to compose a melody to fit some words.  Then, in the afternoon, we will be extending these song settings by adding simple accompaniments.  You will have the opportunity of taking home a print-out or CD or your carol to use as a very special Christmas present, or as an item in a Carol Service.WHAT  TO  BRING*  An electric keyboard (with headphones if possible) or another instrument that you can play, even if only at a basic level (electric keyboards will be available for use on the day, if you are unable to bring an instrument)*Any words that you have found or written yourself that you think might be suitable for making into a Christmas Carol.*Plain paper and a pencil.
