The new waterwheel has arrived!

Well, actually, it is sitting in the yard in pieces whilst Dave Willcox, of 2V Microsystems Ltd., prepares the old wheelpit. This involves putting in new bearings and sanding down the sides of the wheelpit so that it will take the concrete skin necessary to channel the water most efficiently on to the new wheel. When it is up and running, it will generate some electricity - not enough to stop the meter going round completely but a contribution anyway. And then we have to think about creating a weir. At the moment the flow into the millpond comes from the many springs around here.

I will let you know when it is finished. We will be having an open day in due course to christen the wheel.
